The easiest jersey in football to date. The Raiders played in Los Angeles from 1982 through the 1994 season and went back to Oakland in 1995, so "Los Angeles Raiders" on a shirt is a hard thirteen-year window with no ambiguity at all. Nothing else on this site dates itself that cleanly.

Silver and black also stopped being only a football thing during these years. Raiders gear crossed into hip-hop and skate culture and sold to people who never watched a game, which is why so much of it survives, why the Starter jackets of the era go for what they do, and why plenty of what turns up is licensed fan product rather than anything that was ever near a field. A useful quirk: the shield never changed between Oakland and Los Angeles, so the crest dates nothing. Fan merchandise spells out Los Angeles Raiders, game jerseys never carried a city at all.
